SamiyA Arshad
Samiya is the receptionist and administrative assistant at Savards LLP. She supports the team with administrative coordination and effectively manages communication between the firm and clients. Often, the first point of contact, her priority is creating an environment that is accessible and compassionate. She recognizes that the criminal justice system does not always operate in ways that are just to everyone and is committed to supporting clients as they navigate a process that can feel overwhelming and isolating.
Samiya is committed to social justice and human rights. She graduated with distinction from McMaster University in 2025 with an Honours Bachelor of Political Science degree (specializing in public law and judicial studies). She consistently supports community initiatives that are focused on reducing barriers to legal protection in marginalized communities and has a passion for humanitarian field work. Demonstrated in her recent travel to Morocco to do psychosocial work with displaced communities, these experiences have helped shape her commitment, centred around dignity, empathy, and support as clients navigate the complexities of the legal system.
